NSFL SUNDAY RESULTS (3-13-22)



Colonials (1-1-1)- 33     Stars (1-2)- 9

Storrs, Ct:  Shaquelle Evans returned a punt 63 yards for a touchdown as the Connecticut Colonials posted their first win of the season  crushing the Los Angeles Stars 33-9.

Dane Evans completed 21 of 33 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown with 2 interceptions. James Wilder ran 15 times for 46 yards and a touchdown. Spencer Ware rushed for 55 yards on 8 carries. Shaquelle Evans had 4 receptions for 65 yards and 7 punt returns totalling 118 yards and a touchdown (63 yards). Gregory Hutchinson went 2-2 on field goal attempts with a long of 32 yards. 

Poona Ford led the Colonials defensive effort with 7 tackles and 3 stuffs. Gary Peterson 7 tackles. Duke Ejiofor 6 tackles, 2 stuffs and a hurry. Kelvin Sheppard 4 tackles and a sack. Corey White 3 tackles and a interception (39 yards). Baccarri Rambo 3 tackles, 3 deflections and a interception (34 yards) and Chandler Fenner 3 tackles and a 36 yard interception (TD) for the Colonials (1-1-1).

L.A's Ryan Nassib completed 12 of 32 passes for only 80 yards and Alex Collins was held to only 22 yards on 14 carries as Los Angeles dropped to (1-2) on the year. 

Ironmen (2-1)- 13     Liberty (2-1)- 6

Pittsburgh, PA;  Nick Brossette ran in from 9 yards out for the games only touchdown as the Pittsburgh Ironmen defeated their interstate and division rival Philadelphia Liberty 13-6 Sunday at Heinz Field before 29,612 in attendance. 

Jonathan Jennings completed 19 of 37 passes for 203 yards. Nick Brossette rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Mason Schreiber had 6 receptions for 73 yards. Reed Klubnik 4 catches for 58 yards. Mark Orozco connected on 2 of 2 field goals with a long of 29 yards. 

DJ White had 9 tackles. Juwan Foggia 6 tackles and 2 stuffs. Shakeel Rashad 2 tackles and a interception (16 yards ) as the Ironmen improved to (2-1) on the year. 

Jake Browning led Philadelphia, throwing for 143 yards and a interception on 20 of 32 passing. Duron Carter had 7 receptions for 57 yards and Ryan Hawkins went 2-2 on field goal attempts with a long of 49 yards. 

Greg Hardy tallied 8 tackles and 3 stuffs. Shaquem Griffin and Jeremy Kellem also ha 8 tackles each. Cordarro Law recorded 6 tackles, a sack and a stuff. Breiden Fehoko had 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 stuffs and 2 hurries for Philadelphia (2-1) in the loss for the Liberty. 

Generals (2-1)- 29     Storm (1-2)- 24

Washington DC;  Cardale Jones threw for 247 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 of 32 passing as the Washington Generals defeated the Carolina Storm 29-24 before 24,000 at Audie Field in Washington. 

Thomas Rawls ran 17 times for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns. Devontae Booker rushed for 44 yards on 10 carries and had 3 receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown. Will Tye caught 10 passes for 100 yards. Tim Wright had a touchdown reception, catching 2 passes for 15 yards. Lewis Ward converted on 1-2 field goal attempts with a long of 39 yards. 

Brian Poole had 7 tackles, a sack,  a deflection a forced fumble and a interception (6 yards).  Curtis Weaver 6 tackles, 2 sacks and a hurry. Andrew Adams 6 tackles and a forced fumble. Mitchell White 4 tackles, a deflection and 2 interceptions as the Generals moved to 2-1 on the year. 

Brandon Bridge completed 13 of 27 passing for 164 yards and 3 interceptions for Carolina (1-2). William Powell had a big game, rushing for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries. Vince Mayle caught 5 passes for 56 yards and Bryan Burnham 2 passes for 61 yards. Prince Robinson had a 93 yard kick return for a touchdown. Hugh O'Neal was 1-2 on field goal attempts with a long of 24 yards. 

Will Parks recorded 12 tackles. EJ Gaines and Rashad Fenton 6 tackles apiece and Ja'Gared Davis 4 tackles, a sack, a stuff, a hurry and a forced fumble as Carolina dropped to 1-2.

Barracudas (2-1)- 27     Sea Lions (2-1)- 9

Tampa, FL;   Cam Newton threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for another in leading the Tampa Bay Barracudas (2-1) to a 27-9 victory over the San Francisco Sea Lions (2-1) Sunday afternoon. 

Newton completed 22 of 36 passing for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. He ran 7 times for 31 yards and a touchdown. 

Tarik Cohen had 7 receptions for 57 yards and ran 7 times for 25 yards. Shaq Johnson caught 6 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. Greg Ward Jr 5 catches for 50 yards and a score. Will Lutz kicked 2 field goals making both with a long of 47 yards.

Chris Peace had 7 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 stuffs, a hurry and a forced fumble. Jamar Wall 7 tackles and a deflection. Jalen Elliott 6 tackles for the Barracudas.

Thoroughbreds (1-2)- 31     Fury (0-3)- 6

Louisville, Ky:  Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 255 yards and 4 touchdowns on 17 of 27 passing as the Louisville Thoroughbreds trounced the Seattle Fury 31-6.

Lamar Miller rushed for 141 yards on 26 carries, and had 5 receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown.  Jeremy Sprinkle had 8 catches for 93 yards. Darnell Moody caught 2 passes for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns and DeDe Westbrook had a touchdown reception in the win. Michael Badgley went 1 for 2 on field goal attempts with a long of 49 yards. 

Brandon Williams had 7 tackles, a deflection and a forced fumble. Curt Meggit recorded 7 tackles and a deflection. Kony Ealy had 4 tackles and a sack for the Thoroughbreds defense. 

Dominique Davis completed 18 of 38 passes for 167 yards and 2 interceptions. John Manziel completed 5 of 6 passes for 64 yards for Seattle. 

Armanti Edwards had 6 receptions for 53 yards. Reggie Begelton caught 3 passes for 45 yards and Corey Clement had 5 catches for 42 yards. Kaare Vedvik made 2 of 2 field goals with a long of 44 yards. 

Freddie Bishop recorded 9 tackles, 2 stuffs and a hurry. Willie Harvey had 8 tackles and a sack. Jonah Williams 7 tackles, a sack, 2 stuffs and a forced fumble. Khane Pass 7 tackles for the Seattle defense.

Wranglers (3-0)- 10     Beast (0-3)- 3

Houston, TX;   Zach Collaros threw a 22 yard touchdown pass to D'Haquille Williams for the lone touchdown as the Houston Wranglers took down the Birmingham Beast 10-3.

Zach Collaros completed 16-24 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown with an interception and was sacked 3 times.

Devin Singletary rushed for 66 yards on 22 carries. D'Haquille Williams had 4 receptions for 73 yards and a score. Kenny Shaw had 4 catches for 49 yards. Giorgio Tavecchio went 1-1 on field goals with a long of 32 yards in the win.

Byron Maxwell recorded 8 tackles. De'Vontae Lattimore 6 tackles, a sack, a stuff and a forced fumble. Christian Rector, Carl Grandeur and Larry Dean all had a sack for the Wranglers (3-0).

Birmingham quarterback Tyree Jackson completed 13 0f 29 passes for 95 yards and was sacked 4 times. He also ran 7 times for 21 yards. 

Bralon Addison had 8 catches for 72 yards and Austin Rekow connected on 1 of 1 field goals (42). Sam Acho had 10 tackles, a sack and 2 stuffs. Kendall Beckham 8 tackles and 3 stuffs. Mack Wilson 8 tackles and a stuff. Casey Sayles 6 tackles, a sack and a stuff. Nick Marshall 5 tackles and a interception (32 yards). John Simon recorded a sack in the loss for Birmingham (0-3).

Riders (2-1)- 30     Grizzlies (2-1)- 24

Salt Lake City, Utah;  Cooper Rush threw for 361 yards and 3 touchdowns on 23 of 44 passing to lead the San Antonio Riders to a 30-24 win over the Utah Grizzlies before 30,000 fans at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Utah Sunday. 

William Stanback ran 26 times for 75 yards,plus caught 5 passes for 58 yards. Mark Andrews had 6 receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown. Brice Butler 3 receptions for 69 yards. Bruce Anderson 3 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. Brenden Kelly had a 9 yard touchdown reception. Harrison Butker converted on 3 of 3 field goals with a long of 58 yards. 

DJ Reader had 9 tackles, 2 stuffs and a hurry. Taron Johnson 9 tackles. Matthieu Betts 6 tackles, a deflection, a stuff and a interception (9 yards). Daylon Mack 3 tackles, a sack and a stuff for San Antonio. 

Dakota Prucup completed 23 of 47 passes for 303 yards and 2 touchdowns with an interception and ran 5 times for 13 yards for the Grizzlies. 

Larry Rose rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Chris Swain ran 10 times for 20 yards.  Darreus Rogers 7 receptions for 90 yards. Christopher Herndon 6 receptions for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. Lucky Whitehead 4 catches for 60 yards. 

Willie Jefferson had 9 tackles, 2 sacks and a stuff for the Grizzlies defense. TJ Lee 8 tackles, 2 deflections and a forced fumble. Jabar Westerman 6 tackles, a sack, a stuff and a hurry as the Grizzlies fall to (1-2).


Hotshots (1-2)- 23     Empire (0-3)- 10

Phoenix, Arizona;  Nick Shafnisky tossed two touchdown passes to Jace Amaro to lift the Arizona Hotshots to their first win with a 23-10 victory over the New York Empire. 

Nick Shafnisky completed 17 of 28 passing for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. 

Andrew Harris rushed for 90 yards on 21 carries and caught 3 passes for 11 yards. Tony Pollard ran 14 times for 59 yards. Jace Amaro had 9 receptions for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ty Long went 3 for 3 with a long of 36 yards for Arizona. 

L'Jarius Sneed had 9 tackles, a stuff and 2 forced fumbles. Avonte Maddox 6 tackles, a deflection and a interception (20 yards). Samson Eubukam 4 tackles, a sack and a hurry as the Hotshots improved to 1-2 on the season. 

Vad Lee threw for 257 yards and a touchdown with an interception for New York (0-3). Donald Parham had 7 receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown. Josh Gordon 4 catches for 44 yards and Kelvin Benjamin 4 catches for 39 yards. 

Avery Moss had 8 tackles. Elandon Roberts 7 tackles, a sack, a stuff and a forced fumble. Nate Orchard 7 tackles and 3 stuffs. Rahim Moore 6 tackles and 2 interceptions ( 41 yards) in the loss for New York. 

Hound Dogs (1-2)- 16     Odyssey (2-1)- 14

Oakland, California;  Chris Carson ran 15 times for 69 yards and had 5 catches for 80 yards as the Memphis Hound Dogs stunned the Oakland Odyssey 16-14 at the Coliseum Sunday night. 

Alek Torgersen completed 36/23 passing for 255 yards and a touchdown with an interception. 

Anthony Johnson 6 receptions for 49 yards. Golden Tate 5 catches for 48 yards and Vyncint Smith 2 receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown. 

Tre Herndon had 5 tackles and a interception (36 yards). Francis Berrios 7 tackles and a deflection. Jonathan Butler 6 tackles, a deflection, 2 stuffs and 2 hurries for Memphis. 

Cody Fajardo completed 16 of 33 passes for 102 yards and a interception.

 Aaron Jones ran 12 times for 39 yards and a touchdown and caught 5 passes for 24 yards. Collin Taylor had 4 catches for 30 yards  in a lack luster offensive performance by the Odyssey. 

Tavarus McCain had 10 tackles and a forced fumble. James Vaughn 7 tackles and a hurry. Pierre Desir 6 tackles and a interception return for a touchdown. Shamarko Thomas 5 tackles and Sam Acho 5 tackles for the Odyssey defense.
