Colonials Top Stags 40-21




Colonials (4-1-1)- 40    Stags (3-3)- 21

Storrs, Ct;  Dane Evans threw for 265 yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 of 33 passing and Chris Godwin had 7 receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown as the Connecticut Colonials defeated the Michigan Stags 40-21 Friday night at Rentschler Field. 

James Wilder Jr ran 13 times for 46 yards and caught 3 passes for 10 yards and a touchdown. Shaquelle Evans had 4 catches for 40 yards. Gregory Hutchinson converted 4 of 4 field goals with a long of 37 yards and 4 for 4 on Xtra points. 

Kevin Fogg recorded 9 tackles, 2 deflections, a forced fumble and a blocked punt return for a touchdown( -5 yards). Kelvin Sheppard had 6 tackles and a sack.  John Ojo had 5 tackles, a deflection and a interception ( 61 yards, TD). Shawn Oakman 4 tackles, 2 sacks and a hurry.  Claude Pelosi, Baccarri Rambo and Poona Ford also had a sack for the Colonials. 

Bart Houston stepped in relief for an ineffective Trevor Harris and completed 13 of 25 passes for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns with an interception. Trevor Harris completed 6 of 14 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown before leaving midway through the third quarter. 

Samaje Perine rushed for 43 yards on 10 carries. Alfred Blue had 4 receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 8 yards on 3 carries.  Naamon Roosevelt had 8 catches for 118 yards and a touchdown. Anthony R. Williams had a touchdown reception, catching 2 passes for 19 yards for Michigan. 

Corey Green 7 tackles, 4 stuffs and a forced fumble.  Miles Killebrew 6 tackles and a interception ( 24 yards) and Houston Bates 6 tackles to lead the Michigan defense.
