WEEK 8 SATURDAY RESULTS 

Empire (2-6)- 39    Explorers (0-7)- 20

New York;  Vad Lee threw three touchdowns and Donald Parham caught 9 passes for 113 yards and 2 of those touchdowns as the New York Empire rolled to a 39-20 victory over the Columbus Explorers at Michie Stadium in New York. 

Lee completed 17 of 24 passes for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was sacked once. 

Elijah Hood rushed for 81 yards on 19 carries. Josh Gordon had 2 receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown (20 yds). Kelvin Benjamin caught 4 passes for 34 yards. Brett Meher was 4-5 on field goal attempts with a long of 52 yards and 3-4 on extra points. 

Damon Kazee had 6 tackles and a interception (17 yards). Cam Thomas 6 tackles, a sack, a deflection, a stuff, a hurry and a forced fumble. Rahim Moore 6 tackles and a forced fumble. Elandon Roberts 6 tackles and a stuff. Sam Shields 6 tackles as the Empire improves to 2-6.

Columbus quarterback Vernon Adams completed 11 of 21 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game early in the third quarter due to injury. Aaron Winchester threw for 109 yards and a touchdown with an interception on 8 of 20 passing . He also ran for 17 yards on 7 carries. 

Jeremy Langford ran 12 times for 57 yards. DeMarkus Lodge had 6 receptions for 92 yards. Trevaun Smith 4 catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. Ricco Bussey had a 29 yard touchdown reception for Columbus. Sawyer Petre went 2-2 on field goal attempts with a long of 30 yards. 

Jack Tocho recorded 8 tackles. Anthony Zettle 7 tackles and 4 stuffs. DeAndre Farris 6 tackles. TJ Ward 6 tackles and Ethan Westbrook 4 tackles, a sack, a deflection, 2 stuffs and a hurry in the loss for Columbus. 

The loss spoiled the debut of new Columbus head coach Pete Fredenburg as Columbus remains winless at 0-7.

Storm (4-4)- 20    Fury (0-7)- 3

Raleigh, NC:  Brandon Bridge completed 22 of 33 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown, and a stiff defensive effort led the Carolina Storm to a 20-3 victory over the Seattle Fury. 

William Powell rushed for 83 yards on 32 carries. Vince Mayle had 7 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. Keyarris Garrett 6 catches for 48 yards and Bryan Burnham 5 receptions for 63 yards. Hugh O'Neal was 2-2 on field goal attempts with a long of 51 yards. 

EJ Gaines had 5 tackles. Will Clarke 3 tackles, a stuff and a hurry. James Samples 3 tackles and Malcolm Roach 3 tackles and a stuff for the Storm defense.

Dominique Davis completed 11 of 26 passes for only 91 yards. 

Jeremy Hill ran 8 times for 37 yards and Armanti Edwards caught 4 passes for 30 yards, as Seattle was held to only 133 yards total offense and 6 first downs. 

Willie Harvey had 10 tackles, 3 stuffs and a interception. Khane Pass 10 tackles. Josh Johnson 9 tackles and Carl Lawson 7 tackles, 3 stuffs and a forced fumble for the Seattle defensive effort. 

Beast (3-4)- 9    Gunslingers (3-4)- 3

Birmingham, AL;  Tyree Jackson tossed a 10 yard touchdown pass to Will Hastings for the lone touchdown and Nyheim Hines rushed for 83 yards on 15 carries as the Birmingham Beast moved to (3-4 )with a 9-3 victory over the Oklahoma Gunslingers. 

Bralon Addison had 4 receptions for 44 yards. Isaiah Ford 4 catches for 35 yards and Will Hastings 3 receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown. 

Kentrell Brice had 9 tackles. Zack Evans 7 tackles, 2 sacks, a stuff and a hurry. Kendall Beckham 7 tackles, a sack, a deflection and 2 stuffs. Sam Acho 5 tackles, a deflection and a stuff to power the Beast defense. 

Aaron Murray completed 20 of 29 passes for 163 yards and a interception. He was sacked three times. 

John White IV ran 15 times for 53 yards. Robert Tonyan had 6 receptions for 57 yards. Lil Jordan 4 receptions for 27 yards. Justin Medlock converted only 1 of 4 field goal attempts with a long of 54 yards. 

Shaquille Roberts had 10 tackles and a forced fumble.  Clayton Geathers 6 tackles, a deflection and an interception. Pat O'Connor 4 tackles, 2 stuffs and 2 hurries for Oklahoma in the loss. 

Silverbacks (6-1)- 34    Hound Dogs (3-4)- 15

Memphis, Tn:  Elijah McGuire rushed for 2 touchdowns and caught another as the St.Louis Silverbacks mauled the Memphis Hound Dogs 34-15 in Memphis at the Liberty Bowl. 

McGuire ran 21 times for 30 yards and 2 touchdowns, and 3 receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown. Josh Reynolds had 3 catches for 32 yards. Shane Zylstra 2 receptions for 35 yards and Josh Oliver 3 catches for 26 yards. Trevor Moore connected on 2-2 field goal attempts with a long of 34 yards and 4-4 on Extra points. Janarion Grant had 4 kick returns for 96 yards and 5 punt returns for 106 yards, including a 76 yard punt return for a touchdown. 

Gunner Kiel completed 12 of 25 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown for the Silverbacks. 

Deandre Baker tallied 9 tackles. Brandon Boykin 7 tackles, 2 deflections, a forced fumble and a interception (41 yards). Charles Omenihu 6 tackles, a sack, a stuff and 2 hurries. Neville Gallman 6 tackles, a sack, 2 stuffs and 2 hurries. Tunde Adele 6 tackles and a interception. Perry Riley 5 tackles, a deflection, a hurry and a interception (35 yards). Joel Heath 3 tackles and 2 sacks for the Silverbacks defense. 

Alex Torgersen completed 18 of 37 passes for 142 yards with 3 interceptions and was sacked 5 times. Cole McDonald completed 2 of 4 passes for 30 yards and a touchdown for the Hound Dogs. 

Travis Homer ran 8 times for 51 yards. Chris Carson rushed for 23 yards on 11 carries. Golden Tate had 5 receptions for 47 yards. Anthony Johnson 5 catches for 38 yards. Equanimeous Brown 3 receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown. Lirim Hajrullahu connected on 3-3 field goals with a long of 52 yards.
